Check the rating plate on the heater. TYPE identifies the model and ITEM identifies the product code. For a wood-burning stove, check the ash box or the area beside the glass door. Match that information to the manual before installation.

Choose the North American manual for your exact heater and control. A similar product name or an English-language PDF is not enough: the model code, voltage and control configuration must also match. Residue from manufacturing can cause an odour or some smoke during the first heating. Harvia recommends a first heating before bathing and good ventilation. Follow the first-use procedure in your model’s manual.

Use stones intended for sauna heaters and the size and type specified for your model. Harvia does not recommend random outdoor rocks. Follow the model’s stone-loading instructions so air can move through the heater.
