ZAPARA Bar Wood-Burning Sauna Stove with Stone Basket
Made in Ukraine, the ZAPARA Bar makes the sauna stones part of the design. Its open rod cage surrounds the firebox with stones, creating a distinctive wood-burning sauna stove. Select a 12, 18 or 26 kW model with inside or outside loading.
The open cage holds stones around the metal firebox, giving the Bar its textured appearance and allowing the heated stone mass to store and release warmth.
An 8 mm steel top plate, approximately 0.31 in thick, sits above the firebox. A double S-shaped smoke path and cast-iron grate complete the firebox design.
Tend the fire from the sauna room, or choose an extended firebox for loading from an adjacent space. Black finishes are offered with or without glass.
A wood-fired sauna heater wrapped in stone
The Bar's rod cage lets the stones surround the firebox rather than sit only in a compartment above it. As they heat, the stones accumulate warmth and release it into the sauna. The visible stone surface gives this heater a different presence from an enclosed metal-casing design.
Consider how that shape will sit alongside the benches and walking space. The stone cage is a design feature, not a substitute for the installation spacing required around a wood-burning stove.
Compare Bar stove sizes by sauna volume
The three models have published maximum room volumes of 424 ft³ (12 m³), 636 ft³ (18 m³) and 918 ft³ (26 m³), corresponding to 12, 18 and 26 kW. Choose using the volume and construction of the room, not the appearance of the stove alone.
Measure the finished interior and note substantial glass areas, insulation and ventilation. These details help ZAPARA review which model is appropriate for your sauna.
Place the firebox door where it suits you
An inside-loading Bar keeps the firebox door within the sauna. Outside loading moves the door through the wall using an extended firebox, so you can add logs from an adjacent space. Think about your route to the wood supply and the room where you prefer to tend the fire.
Choose a solid door for a simple black finish or the available glass option for a view of the flames. The separate Bar Panorama model offers a larger viewing panel.

Whether your sauna project is in Canada or the USA, review the selected Bar's dimensions, filled stone arrangement and loading direction before finalizing the layout. The dimensions table identifies overall lengths that include the extended firebox; confirm your exact version before preparing an opening.
The published flue diameter is 120 mm. Discuss the chimney connection and installation documentation with your installer, and choose the stone package as part of your order.

How does the Bar differ from the Classic?
Bar uses an open rod cage to hold stones around the firebox. Classic has an enclosed outer casing and a stone compartment above the firebox. Both offer three sizes.
What steel thickness does the Bar firebox use?
The firebox top plate is 8 mm thick, approximately 0.31 in. This measurement identifies the steel above the fire and beneath the stones; it is specific to that component.
Can I load the Bar from outside the sauna room?
Yes. Choose the outside-loading version with an extended firebox, then plan the wall opening and loading space around that configuration.
